Noise rock doesn’t feel right for a polished, modern studio: there is a modern desire to clean things up, separate everything, and fix the tuning can produce something that is no longer noisy.

The whole sound is built on amp interaction, room pressure, and the interaction between guitar and drums tracked in the same room. That’s the kind of thing you can’t fix in post, but we can help you recreate it, even remotely.

What we bring to a noise rock record

We track noise rock the way it has always been done: all instruments tracked or reamped in the same room, mics up, and committing early to each track, with the happy accidents left in.

The Coles 4038 pair as overheads into the BAE 1073MP captures the Albini-school sound that this music was built on. The Soldano SLO-100 or JCM800 fills the gap for guitar, with Royer R-121s on the cab.

For bass, try Ampeg SVT into the 8x10, played hard with a pick. We run the Sherman Filterbank on sends when the session calls for it. The Neve summing bus gives the mix the density that makes noise rock punch you in the chest.

You track it. We mix it.

Send us your session files and we mix them through the Neve 8424 console at 610 Dean Street. Your guitars go through real amps in a real room. Your drums get the same preamp chain we use for in-studio sessions. You get back a mix that sounds like it was made by people who listen to the music you make.

Export your tracks as WAV stems, 24-bit minimum, consolidated from bar 1
Send us a reference mix or reference records so we know what you are chasing
We mix through the Neve 8424 with our full outboard chain
Re-amping available: send DI guitar and bass tracks and we run them through the amps in the room
Two rounds of revisions included
