If you want a hardcore record, you probably don’t want a series of edited, perfect takes and perfect drum hits. That’s not what makes the genre special. 

How we think about hardcore records

We aim to bring live set energy to your hardcore songs. We can reamp all your tracks in the same room, with the happy accidents left in, not edited out. 

The Neve 8424 console gives your mix the grit you hear on classic hardcore records. We have a JCM800, a Mesa Boogie Double Rectifier, and an original Peavey 5150 Block Letter in the room. Bass can use an Ampeg SVT into an 8x10 massive fridge style cabinet. We want your music to be loud as shit.

  • Drums: Tama Starclassic Maple, Ludwig Black Beauty Snare, SM57 top and bottom on snare, AKG D112 on kick, Coles 4038 pair as overheads, Sennheiser MD 421 on toms

  • Guitar: Marshall JCM800 100W into Marshall 1960BX 4x12, SM57 plus Royer R-121 blend, API 3124V preamp

  • Bass: Fender Precision Bass, Ampeg SVT Heritage into 8x10, SM57 on cab plus DI blend through BAE 1073MP

  • Vocals: SM7B into BAE 1073MP, live in the room with the band

  • Console: Neve 8424, all summing in the analog domain for warmth and grit

  • Noise gates: Fortin Zuul pair for tight riffing between amp and DAW with clear note articulation

  • Bus compression: Serpent SB4001 for glue and aggression on the mix bus

  • Remote mixing: same chain, your files through the Neve

You track it. We mix it.

Send us your session files and we mix them through the Neve 8424 console at 610 Dean Street. Your guitars go through real amps in a real room. Your drums get the same preamp chain we use for in-studio sessions. You get back a mix that sounds like it was made by people who listen to the music you make.

How it works:

  • Export your tracks as WAV stems, 24-bit minimum, consolidated from bar 1

  • Send us a reference mix or reference records so we know what you are chasing

  • We mix through the Neve 8424 with our full outboard chain

  • Re-amping available: send DI guitar and bass tracks and we run them through the amps in the room

  • Two rounds of revisions included

  • Turnaround: 5-7 business days on most projects
